How to match the right hydraulic breaker, grapple, shear, or coupler to your excavator — a practical reference for contractors, fleet managers, and equipment dealers. Updated 2026.

One of the most expensive mistakes in heavy equipment is running the wrong attachment. A breaker that is too heavy destroys your boom. A coupler that does not fit means a day of downtime. A grapple with the wrong hydraulic flow wastes fuel and productivity.
This guide covers the four critical dimensions of attachment compatibility — carrier weight class, hydraulic flow & pressure, coupler interface standard, and pin dimensions — and provides quick-reference charts for the most common machine brands.
The golden rule: breaker operating weight should be 7%–12% of the excavator's operating weight. Too light = ineffective. Too heavy = structural damage and voided warranty.

The three measurements every dealer needs before ordering a coupler or pin-on attachment:
Send us your excavator brand + model + pin measurements (A, B, C). We will confirm fit within 24 hours and ship from stock.
Request Compatibility Check → or email sales@loogye.comMost aftermarket breakers are compatible with all major excavator brands — Cat, Komatsu, Bobcat, Deere, Volvo, Hitachi, etc. The key is matching the breaker to your machine's carrier weight class and hydraulic flow/pressure. You also need the correct mounting bracket or coupler interface. QINJIA provides mounting kits for all major OEM pin patterns.
Check your machine's auxiliary hydraulic flow rate and coupler interface. Skid steers use the universal Bob-Tach™ / SSQA standard. Mini excavators use brand-specific pin patterns. Provide your machine model and we will match the correct grapple with the right hydraulic motor displacement.
Pin-on attachments bolt directly to the excavator stick and linkage — more rigid but requires tools and time to swap. Quick-coupler attachments use a hydraulic or mechanical coupler that lets the operator change tools in under 30 seconds from the cab. Quick couplers add ~50–150 kg to the attachment weight.
A quality 42CrMo forged chisel lasts 150–300 operating hours under normal use in concrete and medium rock. Abrasive granite or heavy demolition may reduce life to 80–120 hours. Always regrease the chisel every 2 hours of operation and rotate it regularly to prevent mushrooming.
Tell us your excavator model and the job — we respond with specs, compatibility confirmation, and pricing within 24 hours.
