The wood grabber is stuck and cannot be opened and closed? ANGMUKE Technology Technical Interpretation: Three Ways to Crack High-frequency Failures

release time:2025-10-13 16:38

"I just grabbed a pile of gravel, and the claws suddenly got stuck and couldn't move, and the construction period seemed to be delayed!" Wood grabbers are the core equipment of material transfer and obstacle removal operations, and "claws stuck" and "unable to open and close" are the most troublesome high-frequency faults for construction workers. Recently, Qin Jia's technology technical service team combined nearly 100 on-site maintenance experiences to launch a special project interpretation for these two types of faults, forming a complete plan from cause investigation, emergency treatment to prevention skills, providing practical guidance for small and medium-sized engineering teams.

"Most wood grabber failures are not caused by damaged parts, but by poor daily operation or maintenance details." Wang Gong, technical director of Qin Jia Technology, introduced that team statistics show that 70% of the wood grabber "claw teeth stuck" and "unable to open and close" failures are caused by debris stuck, lack of lubrication or minor blockage of hydraulic pipelines. Only 30% involve component failures. Mastering basic investigation skills can quickly solve most problems.

In response to the most common "debris stuck" problem, the technical team gave clear investigation steps: first turn off the hydraulic control switch of the wood grabber to avoid danger caused by misoperation; then observe the opening and closing joints of the claw teeth, focusing on checking whether the connection between the pin and the claw body is wrapped with steel wire, gravel particles and other debris - it is easy to get stuck in waste iron wire in municipal clearance operations, and mining operations are mostly gravel impaction. Special hooks or flat shovels should be used to assist in cleaning. It is forbidden to directly touch the joint gap with your hands. After cleaning, manually push the claw teeth to test the opening and closing degree. If it is still stuck, you need to enter the next lubrication inspection.

"Insufficient lubrication is the'invisible cause 'of stagnation. Many construction workers only focus on surface lubrication and ignore the deep maintenance of key pins." Wang Gong stressed that there are 2-3 lubrication points at each claw tooth pin of the wood grabber. Lithium-based grease needs to be added during weekly maintenance, and to ensure that the grease penetrates into the inside of the pin. If the delay is caused by long-term non-lubrication, a small amount of loosening agent can be added first during emergency treatment. After standing for 5 minutes, tap the side of the claw tooth with a hammer, and slowly open and close with the control handle. After the activity is smooth, add enough grease. The person in charge of the engineering team in a certain area reported that the wood grabber could not be completely closed before. After cleaning and lubricating according to this method, the equipment immediately returned to normal, saving the waiting time for maintenance personnel to come to the door.

If the fault has not been solved after the above two steps of investigation, it is necessary to focus on checking the hydraulic system: first observe whether the hydraulic pipeline is bent or damaged, and whether the joint is seeping oil; then check the hydraulic oil level. If it is lower than the standard line, you need to supplement the same type of hydraulic oil; if the liquid level is normal, the wood grabber can be removed to control the filter of the oil circuit, and check whether the pressure is insufficient due to impurity blockage - this problem is particularly common after grabbing oily materials. It can be solved by cleaning the filter or replacing the filter element. Qin Jia Technology specially reminds that when checking the hydraulic system, pressure relief is required first to avoid oil injection injuring people.

In terms of prevention techniques, the technical team gives suggestions based on different working conditions: after grasping sharp materials (such as steel and waste steel bars), the claw tooth gap should be cleaned immediately after the operation; after operation in rainy or humid environments, the pin should be rust-proof; monthly maintenance focuses on checking the claw tooth connecting bolts, and if they are loose, tighten them in time to prevent sticking due to uneven force.

In order to allow construction workers to quickly master the skills, Qin Jia Technology has made the relevant content into a "fault investigation flow chart", which is attached to the supplementary version of the "Practical Operation Guide for the Use and Maintenance of Hydraulic Attachments", which can be downloaded for free through the official website. At the same time, the "fast-acting channel for wood grabber faults" is opened. Within working days, technicians can respond to inquiries within 10 minutes, and combined with on-site photos, they can remotely guide the investigation. "For small and medium-sized engineering teams, quickly solving faults is to save costs." Wang Gong said that the follow-up team will also make special project teaching short videos for different working conditions to make fault handling skills easier to implement.

Industry experts point out that the popularization of fault handling skills for hydraulic attachments such as wood grabbers can not only reduce the operation and maintenance costs of construction enterprises, but also improve the overall operation efficiency of the industry. As a start-up, ANGMUKE Technology has deeply cultivated the pain points of sub-sectors, and is gradually building a differentiated competitive advantage through value-added services such as technical interpretation and practical operation guidance.
